Community Supported Agriculture

Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) is a partnership between ClearWater farmers and local community members who share both the risks and rewards of food production. Instead of waiting until harvest to buy our farm-fresh produce, members invest at the start of the season, giving our farmers the resources they need to plan, plant, and nurture a diverse array of crops. In return, members receive a weekly share of whatever is freshly harvested, enjoying the very best of each season’s bounty.

The Core Principles of Community Supported Agriculture

Shared Risk & Reward
Farming is unpredictable—weather shifts, pests, and other factors can affect yields. By becoming a ClearWater Basket Program member, you share in both the joys of abundance and the challenges of the season. Your early investment gives our farmers the stability to grow responsibly and sustainably.

Farm-to-Table Freshness
The ClearWater Basket Program produce moves directly from field to member—often within hours—maximizing flavour, nutrients, and shelf life. You’ll taste the difference in every bite.

Seasonal Variety
Rather than selecting only familiar favourites, members discover new and heirloom varieties as they come into season. From spring’s tender greens to autumn’s hearty squash, your weekly share is a culinary adventure.

Community Connection
The ClearWater Basket Program fosters a stronger bond between eaters and growers. ClearWater Farm hosts community events—movies on the farm, harvest celebrations, and cooking events—so you can see exactly where your food comes from and meet the people who grow it.

Why Community Support Matters for Farmers and Members

Predictable Funding for Farmers
Early-season memberships provide our farmers with the working capital needed for seeds, equipment, and labour—no reliance on volatile wholesale markets.

Reduced Waste
With a clear understanding of how many shares to fill each week, ClearWater farmers can plan precisely, minimizing surplus and composting.

Empowered Eating
Members take an active role in their food system, making healthier choices and supporting stewardship of the land.

Stronger Local Economies
Membership dollars stay in the community, supporting ClearWater farm, local jobs, and sustainable practices.

Community Supported Agriculture at ClearWater Farm

At ClearWater Farm—nestled on the shores of Lake Simcoe in Georgina, Ontario—our Seasonal Basket Program is our very own CSA. When you join as a member, you’re not just placing an order; you’re investing in the health of our land and the vitality of our local community.

  1. Invest in the Season
Your membership fee arrives at planting time, helping us purchase organic seed varieties, hire skilled farmhands, and maintain soil health.
  2. Receive Weekly Baskets
Every week, from May through October, we curate a basket overflowing with the freshest, peak-season produce: crisp lettuce, sweet peas, heirloom tomatoes, rainbow carrots, and more.
  3. Celebrate Local Flavor
We grow using sustainable farming practices, ensuring you enjoy produce free from synthetic chemicals and bursting with the true taste of Lake Simcoe farmland.
  4. Build Farm–Community Bonds
Members are invited to seasonal farm events, and virtual recipe shares—making each basket more than just food, but a chance to connect.
